  Recycling of old vehicles

In Cyprus the law on End-of-Life Vehicles was implemented on 1/1/2007 in line with the EU Directive (2000/53/EC) on End-of-Life Vehicles. The law obliges all manufacturers/importers who sell motor vehicles of M1 and N1 category in Europe to take back their End-of-Life Vehicles.

From 1st January * 2007, this applies to all Mitsubishi Motor vehicle irrespective of the sold date to be taken back free of charge from the last registered owner/keeper owner, at one of the designated authorized take back points provided that the vehicle still contains all major components and is free of any additional waste. Any vehicle found to have additional waste *1 added or essential component missing, the authorized take back point has the right to make a charge.

Mitsubishi Motors has a network of authorized take back points available to receive End-of-Life Vehicles, to ensure they will be recycled in an environmentally friendly manner and in line with legal requirements. These authorized take back points will also issue you with a Certificate Of Destruction (COD) which is required by the local authorities for deregistration of your Mitsubishi vehicle.
